Getting married in Santa Barbara, CA is a dream come true.
What do you think of when you hear “Santa Barbara Wedding?” Personally, I immediately imagine the immaculate Santa Barbara Courthouse and the iconic State Street. This year (2023!) I was so overjoyed when Ali and Andrew reached out to me looking for a wedding photographer for their Santa Barbara destination wedding. The venues? THE SANTA. BARBARA. FREAKIN’. COURTHOUSE. And, of course, the gorgeous Villa & Vine on State Street.
But I’m getting ahead of myself. Let’s start with the GORG details Ali put together. A family friend did her wedding flowers for her and I think the earthy pastels really complimented the landscape and architecture of a Santa Barbara Wedding. Check these out:
After getting ready at a gorgeous garden Airbnb near the city center, it was time for a first look at The Arlington Theatre which – incredibly – had Andrew & Ali’s name and wedding date posted up on the marquee!! EEEEKKK!
The bride also had the sweetest idea of recording moments on an old camcorder, so of course I just HAVE to include this adorable shot of her in her element, enjoying the moment with her future hubby!
After the sweetest first look under the marquee, we headed over to the courthouse for a magical ceremony.
Of course we had the MOST fun running around the courthouse snapping photos of the two architects surrounded by gorgeous architecture. And of course bridal party photos… I AM OBSESSED WITH THE FLORAL BRIDESMAIDS DRESSES!
After a beautiful ceremony and photo session, it was time to CELEBRATE! We walked over to the reception space as a group.
The reception was held at Villa and Vine – a venue “reminiscent of a sun-soaked villa and garden courtyard in the Riviera.” Seriously. I grabbed that quote from their website (https://www.villaandvineweddings.com) and it could not be more true! Coffee shop by day and wedding venue by night, Villa & Vine did NOT disappoint!
